A pulse generator for a magnetic drum or like store comprises a movable track having a sequence of equally spaced marks each adapted to produce an electric pulse in a reading head, and a plurality of reading heads electrically connected in series and arranged at such a distance from one another that they are simultaneously energized by the marks of the track. The aim is to average out any slight inaccuracies which might be present when using a single reading head. Ferroelectric and photo-electric transducers can be treated similarly, and the arrangement can also be used with a tape store.
