847,562. Heel protectors. FREY, S. Sept. 30, 1958 [Oct. 1, 1957], No. 31145/58. Class 17(3) A push-on heel protector 3 has a base plate 5<SP>111</SP> to lie flush with the faces of the heel 1, and a fastening element comprising a part cylindrical raised portion 7 located centrally on the base plate to engage a corresponding recess 4 in the heel, and a lug 16 adjacent the raised portion and of different height therefrom to engage a slot 15 opening in the front of the heel. The lug 16 may be rounded at its rear portion. The wear surface of the base plate may have a shallow recess 9<SP>111</SP>.
