847,349. Control of motors. ACF INDUSTRIES Inc. Dec. 22, 1958, No. 41351/58. Class 38 (3). [Also in Group XXXVI] An input signal controls a servo-system 15 (Fig. 1) to correspondingly adjust a potentiometer 18 to energize contact 6 of a relay 11 over resistance 20; the opposite contact 4 being connected to D.C. motor 1 and the relay being operated by a signal 12 of cyclically variable amplitude to alternately charge capacitance 9 over resistance 20 and to discharge it into the motor, which rotates in successive steps (Fig. 2, not shown) through an angle 0 representing the time integral of the input. The signal 12 may comprise a train of random pulses, and a further relay-capacitance-resistor may be provided to make the circuit system bi-directional.
