Abstract
846,970. Toothed gearing. BRITISH THOMSON-HOUSTON CO. Ltd. Nov. 21, 1958 [Feb. 3, 1958], No. 3454/58. Class 80 (1). An enclosure for a pinion 2 and a mating rack or sector 1 comprises a flexible band 3 of steel, beryllium copper, or plastic such as nylon, which is secured at its ends to the rack or sector at 3, 4 and intermediately passes under rollers 6 and around a skid 7 over the pinion 2. The band co-operates with side-plates 8 secured on either side of the rack or sector and plates 9, 10 on either side of the pinion.
