Abstract

844,385. Belt gearing. SCHLOZ, H. Jan. 21, 1957, No. 2185/57. Class 80 (1). The heat generated in a V-belt pulley is dissipated by an impeller fastened to one or both sides of the pulley to produce a current of air sweeping the flanks. In Fig. 1, a single groove pulley 1, has a sheetmetal disc 2, with embossed blades 3, welded or soldered to the outer flanks 4 of the pulley and draws air through the central hole 5 to sweep the flanks. A multi-groove pulley 17, Fig. 3, has an impeller 7 with a cup-shaped extension 9 circulating air through an annular recess 10.
