Abstract
844,025. Controlling by sounds; programmed electric control systems. SIMOS, A. Jan. 12, 1959, No. 1043/59. Classes 38 (6) and 118 (2). [Also in Group XXIX] A plurality of fountains are controlled in accordance with the signal amplitudes in respective frequency bands of an electrical audio-frequency signal derived for example from speech, live music or recorded or transcribed sound. The audio-frequency input is applied to a preamplifier 10 and is thereafter separated into three channels each comprising an intermediate amplifier 30 the output from which is applied to a power amplifier 38 through a respective band-pass filter 36, that for channel 1 covering the band from 25 to 250 c/s., that for channel 2 covering the band from 250 to 2500 c/s. and that for channel 3 covering the band from 2500 to 15,000 c/s. The outputs from the amplifier 38 are rectified and are then applied through respective magnetic amplifiers to pump motors 50 each of which controls a pump 62 supplying fountains 64 whereby the flow of water to each set of fountains 64 is controlled by the signal components present in the appropriate frequency band of the input signal.
