Abstract

842,578. Books. MITCHELL, F. G. Oct. 6, 1958 [Oct. 7, 1957], No. 31288/57. Class 16. A manuscript book, such as a laundry, insurance, or tradesman's book, has a cover with a pocket to receive sums of money, and is made from a folded cardboard &c. blank comprising and inner portion B to which the book leaves 3 are secured, a lower portion C which is gussetted at 4 and folded upwardly over the portion B, a side flap D which is gussetted at 7 and is folded and secured to the portion C, a top flap E which is folded and releasably secured to the portion C by the engagement of a tongue F on the flap with a slot 9 in the portion C, and a folded side portion A which forms a top cover for the book. A side flange 5 on the portion C, and the book leaves 3, one secured by staples or stitching 2 along the fold line 1, and another side flange 7 on the portion C engages in the gusset 7. The portions B, C, D thus form a pocket which is gussetted at the bottom and one side, and which is closed by the top flap E. A fold line 10 facilitates the engagement of the tongue F with the slot 9.
