Abstract

A porous battery separator or armouring sheet (see Group XXXVI) is moulded (see Group V) from a composition comprising 70 to 80 wt. per cent of polyvinyl chloride and kieselguhr and/or pumice, e.g. 75% by weight of polyvinyl chloride, 8% kieselguhr, and 17% pumice of a particle size between 100 and 200 meshes. In an example the composition is sintered at 220 DEG C. on a fibrous net. Specification 448,468 is referred to.
