Abstract
837,928. Kinematograph apparatus. HAYNOR Ltd. Feb. 26, 1958, No. 6160/58. Class 97(1) A kinematograph film viewer comprises a viewing screen on which an image is projected and at least one means, for changing the direction of the projection beam, which can be moved along and rotated about a predetermined axis to position the projected images on the screen. In one form, shown in plan, the film is drawn from a feed spool, not shown, through the viewer by rotating a take-up. spool, not shown, passing round a guide roller 18, other similar guide rollers, not shown, and a sprocket 19 by which an optical compensator block 26a in a framework 26b is rotated by gearing 25, 27. The film also passes over a projection aperture in a block 17. The film edge may be notched, for editing purposes by a pivoted knife 35 operated by a handle 35a. The film is illuminated by a lamp in a housing 10 with condenser 16. The projection objective 29 is secured in a tubular housing 11e by a screw 30 engaging a spiral slot for initial focusing. The projection beam is reflected by mirrors 31, 33 on to the screen 34. The mirror 31 is mounted on a rod 32, rotatable and axially adjustable in the housing 11e by a knob 32a. The instrument casing comprises a main plate 11 carrying the film guiding parts and having, formed integrally, the housing 11e and the lower part of the lamphouse. Attached to this plate are the lamphouse cover 10 and the cover 12 enclosing the projection light path and supporting the screen.
