In a telephone dial a digit ring 11 of anodizable aluminium plate has a curved cross-section and is mounted in a depression in a frame 13 of synthetic plastic material. Lugs formed on the ring 11 are accommodated in cavities in the frame 13 to prevent rotation of the ring relative to the frame.
