Abstract
An artificial tooth is made by trimming and shaping a preformed translucent facet to fit the gap, colouring its rear surface to match the natural teeth and forming a tooth body on to it. The facet is made of a thermoplastic resin, such as acrylic, and the colouring is done with a medium having a base chemically related to the material of the blank. The facet is preferably placed in the mould in which the tooth body is formed, so as to be securely attached to it.
