Abstract

835,827. Doors. NEWMAN & SONS Ltd., W., and BARNES, E. T. Dec. 1, 1958 [Dec. 4, 1957], No. 37714/57. Class 20(3) In a flexible swing door comprising a sheet 1 of translucent plastic material &c. clamped between metal supporting plates 5, 6 along its hinged side and top edge respectively, reinforcing layers 16 of rubber &c. are located between the sheet 1 and clamping plates so as to project beyond the edges of the clamping plates at 16a-16c. In a modification, the reinforcing layers 16 are provided only at diagonally opposite corners 16b, 16e of the door. The clamping plates on one side of the sheet are welded to the door whereas those on the other side are detachably secured by clamping screws 7, 8 and tapped sleeves or nuts 17.
