835,745. Testing adhesive strength. ETHICON Inc. April 30, 1957 [June 25, 1956], No. 19670/56. Class 106 (2). [Also in Group VII] In testing the strength of adhesion between a surgical needle 38 and a suture 37 attached thereto by heat-curable thermosetting adhesive such as epoxy resin, the needle is held in a vice 39 secured to a pivoted block 33 carrying a graduated arm 34 on which is slidable a weight 36. The suture is pulled until arm 34 rises from a block 35, weight 36 being successively moved outwardly until the suture is pulled away from the needle.
