Class 86 The rim of the mixing bowl 2 of a domestic mixing machine is gripped by a fixed claw 4 and a movable claw 5 carried by parallel linkage 6, 7 and engaged by the tension of a spring 8. The claw 5 is retracted by a lever 10 having a fulcrum 9 and bearing on the pivot 12. Some backlash is provided between the lever 10 and the claw and link mechanism in order to allow for manufacturing variations in the bowl size, and is taken up by the spring 11. The claws 4, 5 may be rounded in contour in order to hold the bowl firmly in both horizontal and vertical planes.
