834,697. Marking-out work. WHESSOE Ltd. July 4, 1958 [July 17, 1957], No. 22636/57. Addition to 806,347. Class 61. An improvement in or modification of the method of marking out a workpiece, of the parent Specification, consists in interposing one or more reflecting surfaces in the path of light from the source to the workpiece. In one arrangement a downwardly facing, horizontally disposed mirror 31 is supported at a distance a above the template 16 and a light source 10 is disposed beneath the mirror at a distance b from it such that a + b = d where d is the distance above the template 16 of the centre of curvature 0 of the plate 24 to be marked. In a modification a second horizontal plane mirror is used. In another modification a curved mirror is arranged so that a virtual image of the source 10 is produced at the centre of curvature of the plate. In other modifications the light source is off-set from the vertical axis of the apparatus.
