Abstract

Plasters for providing a terazzo-type finish on floors, walls and like surfaces consist of a mixture of an aggregate of particles of stone, polyvinyl acetate emulsion and sufficient water to obtain the desired consistency. The aggregate is ground to pass through a 35-100 mesh sieve. Preferred proportions are 8-85 parts aggregate, 20-15 parts polyvinyl acetate emulsion, 3-5 parts water. The plaster is applied with the usual plasterer's trowel or float and the colouring can be varied according to the colour of the stone used. Blended colours can be obtained using different coloured stones. A further layer of marble chips may be applied of size 1/18 -\ba1/35 inch mesh.
