Abstract

In a method of making coloured artificial cellular products, especially sponges, having a basis of regenerated cellulose, coloured fibres are incorporated in cellulose xanthate during the course of manufacture of the products. Crystalline sodium sulphate is preferably incorporated in the cellulose xanthate as pore-forming material. The coloured fibres may be of cotton, flax, hemp or jute or mixtures thereof or artificial fibres, such as "Fibro" Staple ("Fibro" is a Registered Trade Mark).ALSO:In a method of making coloured artificial cellular products, especially sponges, having a basis of regenerated cellulose, coloured fibres are incorporated in cellulose xanthate during the course of manufacture of the products. Crystalline sodium sulphate is preferably incorporated in the cellulose xanthate as preforming material. The coloured fibres may be of cotton, flax, hemp or jute or mixtures thereof or artificial fibres, such as Fibro Staple ("Fibro" is a Registered Trade Mark).
