833,162. Couch rolls. DORRIES A.G., O. [May 15, 1958 [June 8, 1957], No. 15647/58. Class 96. The apertures 1 in a suction couch roll are widened or recessed without sharp edges at both ends 2 and the recesses merge into one another through a passage which has a minimum cross-section 5 preferably midway between the surfaces of the roll or nearer the outer surface; the apertures, which may be convex, arcuate or parabolic in longitudinal section, or widened conically towards the inner surface are distributed in grid-like pattern over the roll, the grid lines intersecting at right angles but not being parallel to the axes of the roll.
