Abstract

A liquid petroleum gas cylinder valve, eg. the type used with clip on regulators, has a body (2), a main valve (1) in the form of a cartridge, and a pressure relief valve (3) also in the form of a cartridge. Built into the body is a stop-off valve. When the main valve becomes faulty by leakage etc. item (1) is removed and replaced with a new one. The same applies to the pressure relief valve. This is done while leaving the body in place in the cylinder. This serves two main purposes:- a) it is more economical to replace a part thereof than to replace the whole unit. b) While the main valve cartridge is removed the air entering or gas escaping is prevented by a stop-off valve. The pressure relief valve cannot be removed until the main valve is removed. <IMAGE>
