Abstract
833,030. Pillars, mine shoring. HOPKINS & BUCKLAND Ltd. March 20, 1958 [March 21, 1957], No. 9241/57. Classes 20(1) and 20(2) [Also in Group XXXII] A framework A is secured between spaced abutments by the expansion of telescopic members B, C of which the inner member C carries a pin D sliding in and extending through a slot E in the outer member B to engage in a cam slot F in a lever H, J pivoting on the outer member B, so that rotation of the lever causes relative movement of the members B, C. As shown the pin D extends through diametrically opposed slots E and two cam slots F are provided. Spring pressed shock absorbing feet K<SP>1</SP> are mounted on the end of member B and member C carries adjustable feet K. As used for trench shoring or as a pit prop the grille S is omitted and means are provided whereby the levers may be released from a distance. The framework as shown is for partitioning a goods van or luggage compartment of a railway coach. Specification 651,926 is referred to.
