Abstract

832,530. Phase-shifting circuits. BRITISH THOMSON-HOUSTON CO. Ltd. Dec. 6, 1956, No. 37356/56. Class 40 (8). [Also in Group XL (c)] In order to change the apparent position of a short-circuit in a wave. guide cyclically at high frequency by a predetermined amount, an apparatus comprises a shaped disc of material having a permittivity different from that of the waveguide material which can be introduced into and withdrawn from a short-circuitor stub by rotation of the disc. In one embodiment, a disc 3, Figs. 1 and 2, carries blades 4, 5 and 6 of suitable dielectric material which rotate through the waveguide 1, the object being to change the phase of an R.F. signal by a predetermined amount cyclically at high frequency.
