832,217. Non-metallic springs. WILMOT MANSOUR & CO. Ltd. July 12, 1957 [June 14, 1956; Aug. 1, 1956], Nos. 18434/56 and 24207/56. Class 108(3) [Also in Group XVII] Rubberized hair blocks 2 in which a majority of hairs tend to lie in planes parallel to two opposed faces of the block, are arranged in a package so that these faces are substantially at right angles to the surfaces of contained article 3 and the container wall which they contact. The blocks may be formed by cutting a sheet into strips 6 and securing the strips by the faces parallel to the said planes. Two such blocks may be joined with a layer of felt &c. between them, Fig. 5. A series of joined strips 16 secured to a sheet 17 may be bent to form a packing cylinder, Fig. 8. A strip may be coiled and fixed to a disc 12, the latter having apertures 15 enabling it to be secured within a box, Fig. 7. Three blocks constructed of strips as described may be placed mutually at right angles to form a corner protecting arrangement in a package (Fig. 6 not shown). Specification 779,786 is referred to.
