Abstract

829,154. Sun visors for vehicles. BATTERSBY, D. J. July 31, 1958 [Aug. 8, 1957], No. 25001/57. Class 103(2) . A sun visor for a motor car comprises a moulding of fibre glass impregnated with plastic and having an inverted channel section with depending flanges 10, 11 and a hollow raised rib 12, 13 at each angle of the channel. The ends of the visor are curved or cranked downwardly and rearwardly and provided with flanges 15 adapted to fit against the sides of the windscreen pillars to which they are secured by screws passing through holes 16. Wires, plates or hollow or open sections of metal &c. are incorporated in the moulding as at 17 to take local stresses.
