Abstract

828,763. Toy figures. OAK RUBBER CO. Feb. 6, 1958 [Aug. 8, 1957], No. 3875/58. Class 132(3) A balloon 19 forms the head and body of a toy figure and includes eyelet portions 15<SP>1</SP> for receiving balloons 25, 26 which constitute arm and leg members. After tying, the necks of the balloons 25, 26 are pulled through the eyelets and are gripped by contraction of the rubber surrounding the eyelets when the balloon 19 is inflated. A metal member 9 having slots 14, 15 is dipped in liquid latex to produce the balloon 19. The latex bridges the narrow openings of the slots and closes the slots to form the eyelets. After the latex has hardened, the balloon is stripped off the member 9, the rubber forming the eyelets being stretched to slip over the closely adjacent portions of the member 9 at the bases of the slots. Other figures such as animals or insects having four or more legs are also specified.
