Abstract

A process for producing a stable oil-soluble vitamin preparation comprises mixing an oily vitamin, or a solution thereof in oil, with a solution of a film-forming agent, e.g. gelatin, with the aid of a surface active agent, mixing this bulk mixture with a pleasant tasting water-soluble powdered or crystalline solid so as to obtain a granular product and thereafter drying the granular product. The product may be directly tabletted or may be mixed with further conventional tablet excipients, e.g. talc or magnesium stearate. The examples illustrate (1) a Vitamin A/D preparation mixed with gelatin solution in the presence of a "Tween" (Registered Trade Mark) and mixed with a Vitamin B1 powdered sugar mixture, and (2) a tabletted multivitamin preparation containing Vitamins C, B1 and nicotinamide.
