An arc-control device for a fluid-blast circuit-breaker comprises a housing 1 with internal baffles and passageways (not shown) on or in which an insulating tube 2 containing a resistor 4 is mounted, so that discharge orifices 3 are left unobstructed. The resistor 4 may consist of material having a linear or non-linear characteristic, various ways of mounting it on the housing 1 being described, together with other housing shapes and disposition of the discharge orifices 3.
