Abstract

824,364. Electric control systems. LANDIS & GYR A.G. Nov. 21, 1956 [Nov. 22, 1955], No. 35670/56. Class 40 (1). [Also in Group XXXIX] A generator for audio-frequency signals to be superimposed on a power mains N comprises a motor generator set M, G the generator being supplied from a mains source S via rotary transformer DT which controls the frequency of supply to the generator G in such a manner that the frequency # 2 supplied to the mains is controlled according to a predetermined programme, the frequency so supplied being unaffected by variations in the supply to the motor M or the load on the generator G. As shown the frequency fs is varied by the transformer DT in accordance with the rotation imparted to it by the device A. This frequency is then increased by generator G pn by an amount -, where p is the number of pole 60 pairs and n the number of revs/min. of the generator. The output frequency # 2 thus fed to the mains, is also compared in the device R with that supplied by a programmer P, the output of R controlling the device A. The programmer P may supply a fixed standard frequency or may supply a wobbulated frequency if, for instance, it is required to actuate sharply timed resonant reed relay receivers which may have differences in their resonant frequencies inherent in their manufacture.
