[Also in Group XXXIX] In a gramophone pick-up comprising a transducing element and two alternatively usable styli carried on separate stylus carriers coupled to the element, the carriers are mounted each in compliant and frictionally lossy material so chosen and dimensioned that the resonance effect on the element of the stylus and carrier not in use, which would occur but for the presence of such material, is substantially eliminated. As shown in Figs. 3 and 6, each mounting comprises a grommet 36 of plasticised polyvinyl chloride described in Specification 760,787, [Group XXXIX], which is referred to, held between two parts of the pick-up easing ; each stylus carrier 35 passes right through a slot in its grommet 36 being located therein by projections 35c, 35d and has two lateral lugs 35b by which it engages a projection 11e of a sheath 11 moulded about the piezo-electric transducing element 10. In another embodiment not shown, the pick-up is the same as that in one embodiment of Specification 799,329 except that each wire-form stylus carrier is mounted in a projection, through the casing, of the transducer element sheath 11, the latter also being of the above material.
