[Also in Group XXXV] An arrangement for adjusting a system such as a stage lighting system by means of main setting and pre-setting levers is characterized in that there are provided in association with each main setting lever a number of pre-setting levers, the settings of which may be transmitted to the associated main setting lever in any desired sequence by means of a device which includes electromagnetic clutches. A stage lighting system may comprise a main setting lever 1 and a number of associated pre-setting levers 28, 29, 30, the lighting conditions for different scenes being pre-set by means of the levers 28, 29, 30. When a scene is selected by manually-operated switches 40, 49-and remotely by push-buttons 57, 58, 59-a bridge circuit is formed comprising a potentiometer resistor 13 over which the main setting lever contact 12 moves, and as shown selected in Fig. 1, a potentiometer resistor 41 over which the pre-setting lever contact 28<SP>11</SP> moves. A battery 50 supplies the bridge and the potential difference between the contacts 12, 2811 energizes a polarized relay coil 16 to energize one or other of two electromagnetic clutch operating coils 22, 23 whereby the lever 1 is driven into correspondence with the lever 28 by means of either of the two continuous rotating shafts 10, 11 and one of the electromagnetic clutches 6, 7, when no potential difference will exist between contacts 12, 28<SP>11</SP>, the relay coil 16 and the clutch operating coil thus being de-energized. The lighting condition is controlled by a contact 12a on the main setting lever moving over a potentiometer resistor 14. In Fig. 4 the potentiometer resistors 41, 42, 43 are combined into one element 60 over which contacts 28<SP>11</SP>, 29<SP>11</SP>, 30<SP>11</SP> move. In another embodiment the polarized relay and the bridge potentiometer resistors may be dispensed with, the clutch energizing coils being energized over contacts associated with the levers 1, 28, 29, 30. Various physical arrangements of the apparatus are shown, in which for ease of operation the pre-setting levers may be of different lengths or where the presetting levers may normally lie below the surface of a casing and be brought into the operating position by means of cams. The pre-setting devices may be remote from the main setting device. A master control may be incorporated to return all the main setting levers simultaneously to the initial position.
