819,695. Transfers. HOFFMAN & ENGELMANN A.G. Oct. 1. 1957 [Sept. 2, 1957], No. 30633/57. Class 100(2) A transfer paper comprises a sheet of paper, a layer of starch applied thereto and a coating medium of poly-waxes in aqueous solution superimposed on the starch. The poly-waxes, which are polyethylene oxides having the general formula HO - CH2 - (CH2 - O - CH2)n - CH2 - OH are mixed with gum arabic, dextrin, or other starch derivative before being applied, and preferably those polywaxes having a molecular weight between 1500 and 1600 are used. The transfer of the design may be effected by application of moisture or heat.
