Abstract

817,699. Laminates; adhesive coated fabrics. MIDLAND SILICONES Ltd. June 24, 1957 [Aug. 30, 1956], No. 19824/57. Class 140. [Also in Group XXII] Sheet or strip material for use as a weld backing consists of a heat resistant base coated with silicone adhesive. The base may be rigid or flexible, e.g. steel strip. The base may be in the form of silicone adhesive bonded laminations of, say, glass cloth, asbestos, mica or metal foils such as aluminium. A compound sheet consists of layers 10 of silicone adhesive coating and interposed between a layer 11 of glass cloth and a layer 13 of metal or silicone resin or silicone rubber. The adhesive may be as described in Specifications 740,573 and 767,797.
