Abstract
Prior to metallizing magnetic powder by e.g. halide diffusion or electrolytic means, major projections on the particles of the powder are broken off by subjecting it to a running-in process, i.e. a process in which the particles are caused mutually to abrade one another. Thus ferorus powder may be coated with chromium or aluminium and used in an electromagnetic powder clutch.
