Abstract

816,519. Lathe - drivers and carriers. GENERAL ELECTRIC CO. Ltd. Oct. 11, 1957 [Oct. 15, 1956], No. 31329/56. Class 83 (3). A catch-plate 1, for a centre lathe, is recessed to receive an annular-shaped carrier having two radially opposite arms 9 engageable with slots 10 in the catch-plate 1. In use, the catch-plate 1, having bore 4 which allows work 6 to be engaged by a centre 5, is attached to an existing catch-plate 2 by recessed screws 3. The carrier is attached to the work 6 by screws 11, and splitbushes may be used in the bore of the carrier to accommodate a range of work-sizes.
