Abstract
Composition for influencing the growth of plants, especially for killing weeds, comprises an s-triazine derivative of the general formula: <FORM:0814947/I/1> wherein R1R2R3 represents hydrogen, an alkyl alkenyl, hydroalkyl, aralkyl or cycloalkyl radical and R4 represents alkyl, alkenyl, hydroxyalkyl, aralkyl or cycloalkyl radicals whilst R1 can be bound to R2 or R3 to R4 either direct or by way of an oxygen atom and a carrier. (a) A water-insoluble pulverulent solid or (b) an organic solvent boiling above 150 DEG C., or (c) an emulsifying agent together with a water-insoluble pulverulent solid or an organic solvent. The carrier may itself be phytotoxic e.g. high boiling mineral oil factions of chlorohydrocarbons, other specified carriers which are inert are cyclohexanol, kerosene, tetrahydronaphthalene, alkylated naphthalene, mineral and vegetable oils, talc, diatomaceous earth, kaolin, bentonite, calcium carbonate, tricalcium phosphate, sawdust, powdered cork and charcoal. Dispersion and wetting agents bactericides, fungicides, fertilizers and substances to improve adhesive properties such as fatty acids, glue, casein and alginates may be incorporated. Many specified compounds are given.ALSO:Composition for influencing the growth of plants, especially for killing weeds, comprises an s-triazine derivative of the general formula <FORM:0814947/VI/1> wherein R1, R2, R3 represent hydrogen, alkyl alkenyl, hydroxyalkyl aralkyl or cycloalkyl radicals and R4 represents alkyl, alkenyl, hydroxyalkyl, aralkyl or cycloalkyl radicals whilst R1 can be bound to R2 or R3 to R4 either direct or by way of an oxygen atom and as a carrier (a) a water-insoluble pulverulent solid, or (b) an organic solvent boiling above 150 DEG C., or (c) an emulsifying agent together with a water-insoluble pulverulent solid or an organic solvent. The carrier may itself be phytotoxic, e.g. high boiling mineral oil factions or chlorohydrocarbons and other specified carriers which are inert are ethyl or isopropyl alcohol, acetone, cyclohexanol, kerosene, benzene, toluene, xylene, tetrahydronaphthalene alkylated naphthalene, chlorinated hydrocarbons, ethylene chloride mineral and vegetable oils, talc, diatomaceous earth, kaolin, bentonite calcium carbonate tricalcium phosphate sawdust powdered cork, charcoal. Emulsifying, dispersion and wetting agents bactericides, fungicides fertilizers and substances to improve adhesive properties such as fatty acids, glue, casein and alginates may also be incorporated. Many specified compounds are given.
