Class 25 A cowl comprising four spaced curved plates 2 connecting a base-plate 1 and a cover 4 is mounted on a chimney by the sliding interengagement of a tube 5 carried by the base-plate and a tube 7 cemented to the chimney top. The tube 5 extends within the cowl beyond the base-plate for a distance between one quarter and one half the height of the openings between adjacent plates 2.
