Abstract
An aluminium magnesium hydroxy carbonate admixture is made by mixing hydrous aluminium hydroxy carbonate gel with precipitated magnesium carbonate (5 to 35 parts as oxide per 100 parts total oxides) and drying. The mixture may be made by admixing the two ingredients or by adding magnesium chloride to the aluminium hydroxy carbonate gel and precipitating the magnesium carbonate in situ.
