Classes 52(1), 52(2) and 52(3) The leg of a divan or like article of furniture may be swung from a normal position to a position within the furniture frame or may be completely removed, for ease of package. One plate or leaf 13 of a hinge is secured to the top of the leg 10 while the other leaf 17 is slidable in a metal channel piece 18 secured to the frame and having an end flange 20 as shown. To move the leg to the in use position from that shown the hinge leaves are closed and the leaf 17 slid into the channel 18. The flange 20 then embraces the hinge leaf 13 In an alternative embodiment the hinge leaves are connected by a removable hinge pin and the leaf 17, secured to the furniture frame, has an end flange similar to flange 20. The hinge pin is withdrawn and the free end of leaf 13 is engaged with the flange to move the leg from the out of use position.
