Class 120(1) Fallers for gill spinning and like machines have end portions free from pins over lengths differing from each other by a fraction of the pin spacing. In the form shown in Figs. 2 and 2a, pinsare spaced apart by a distance T on each faller and at one end of each faller the last pin is spaced a distance a from the end while at the other end the spacing. is a + T/2. It is thus possible to have pins of adjacent fallers in line or Spaced a distance T/2 apart. One combination of pins that may be obtained with fallers having end spacings of a, a + T/4, a + T/2 and a + 3/4T is shown in Fig.. 5b. Fallers may be pinned on two sides. The pins and faller bar may be integral and may be of the same or different materials, such as steel pins and aluminium bar. Synthetic plastic material may also be used for a part or the whole of a bar.
