Class 20(4) The anchoring and stressing member for concrete reinforcement described in the parent Specification is modified in that the stressing wires 10 are clamped in two. concentric layers between a mandrel 15 and a sleeve 13, the layers being separated by a conical concentric intermediate ring 19. The ring wall may be slit or provided with recesses in an axial direction so that it may be deformed more easily. The conicity of the ring may vary slightly from that of the mandrel and sleeve to assist in clamping the wire ends. More than two concentric layers of wire may be provided, an intermediate ring being inserted between each two layers.
