Abstract

In a method for rendering wet nitrocellulose free-flowing, the nitrocellulose is subjected to compressive forces. Thus it may be compressed into flat sheet-like sections or flat irregularly shaped disc-like particles. The compressed product may be subsequently broken up into still smaller particles by any mechanical process. The nitrocellulose may be water-wet or alcohol-wet. An example is given.
