Abstract

804,831. Pruning shears. WILKINSON SWORD, Ltd., and RANDOLPH, H. B. March 18, 1955 [Dec. 21, 1953], No. 35529/53. Class 30 A pruning shear has a short length of one or both of the co-operating shearing members formed as a scissor blade. As shown, shearing blades 10, 11 have a knife edge 10a and an edge 11a lying approximately at right angles to the direction of shearing movement, respectively, parts 10b, 11b of each edge being formed as scissor edges, ie. sloping off at the same angle to the edge 11b, for cutting raffia, twine &c. In a modification one blade has a notch opposite the scissor blade part of the other blade to assist in capturing the twine &c. The Provisional Specification refers to Specification 666,802.
