<PICT:0802509/III/1> A paint applicator comprises a framework having a pair of spaced parallel brackets 20 each having one or more grooves or slots 28 which receive and retain the journals of three rollers, namely, a feed roller 30 which has a pile surface 35, a design roller 32 having an embossed surface 37, and an intermediate roller 31 having a hard, impervious, irregular surface 36, the intermediate roller 31 being supported between the other rollers 30, 32 and the journals of the rollers 30 ... 32 being retained in the grooves or slots 28 in such manner as to permit rotative bilateral movement of the rollers 30 ... 32 along the length of the grooves or slots 28. The surface of the roller 31 may be threaded, at least at the ends, in such a direction as to lead paint towards the centre of the roller, and the roller 31 contacts the rollers 30, 32. Tie rods 21 ... 23 space the brackets 20 and support a handle 24. A spring latch 27 retains the rollers in position. In a modification, the hypotenuse of the brackets and the latch are omitted, the grooves or slots being in the right-angular arms, the intermediate roller lying at the intersection of the arms, beneath the feed roller. The rollers are sprung between the brackets.
