Classes 116 and 143 A liquid dispenser comprises a closed tank 15 (Fig. 3), pivoted at 12 so that it normally adopts the chain line position, a continuously open spout 18, means for tilting the tank forwardly to effect discharge of liquid through the spout, a liquid supply conduit 20 connected to the bottom of the tank, and a valve 22 (Figs. 1 and 2 not shown) which is automatically opened to admit liquid to the tank through conduit 20 when a switch 32 is closed by forward tilting to the tank. The tank is provided with a heat insulating jacket 17 an electric heating element 24 and thermostat 26a. A receptacle, e.g. a coffee pot 41, is supported on one side of a beam 46, 54 fulcrumed at 48 and provided with a counter-weight 56 and a mercury switch 58 which, when the beam moves to the dotted position under the weight of a predetermined quantity of liquid in the pot 41, energizes a solenoid 70 which withdraws a spring latch 62 and allows the tank to pivot rearwardly so cutting off the feed of hot water to the pot. A handle 94 and linkage 80, 80a, 86, 88 effects tilting of the tank into its feeding .position where it is retained by latch 62. A manually operable switch 95 (Fig. 2 not shown) is provided to effect cut off before the beam moves if this is desired. In a modification (Fig. 5)' tank 102 is provided with a spout 110, a tilting handle 135, and an inlet valve 123 controlled by a switch 132, the weighing apparatus being dispensed with in this embodiment.
