Abstract
800,306. Directive radio systems. RAYTHEON MANUFACTURING CO. April 1, 1955 [April 8, 1954], No. 9654/55. Classes 40 (5) and 40 (7). An assembly for the transmission of radio signals consists of a mounting bracket 17 to one side of which is attached a reflector 14 and the other side of which carries a casing 12 containing generating and control devices and having a waveguide outlet 20 which, when the case is in position, is in alignment axially with the reflector. The bracket 17 is itself mounted on the top of a tripod 21. As shown, the reflector 14 has a circular axial aperture and carries a hub portion on its rear side. On assembly the reflector and hub are placed over pins 26 projecting from bracket 17 and then aligned angularly for the insertion of fastening-screws 23. The antenna feed 16 with terminal reflector plate 15 is a separate unit placed in position from the rear of the bracket and pressed'home so that its rear flange 16a is hard against centre part 31 of bracket 17 and its intermediate flange 37 completes the surface of the reflector. It is initially positioned by locating pins and later attached by captive screws in flange 16a. The case 12 has rail shoes 66 on its base which slide along rails 67 on bracket 17. The case is thus guided into position so resilient coupling assembly 58 on the front of the case aligns with and fits over nose 162 on the back of feed 16. The rails 67 can then be drawn down to clamp the case in position. Specification 800,305 is referred to.
