Abstract

800,184. Locking rods. GENERAL ELECTRIC CO., Ltd. April 27, 1956 [April 28, 1955], No. 12315/55. Class 80 (3). [Also in Group XXXVII] A number of dolly-operated switches are interlocked by a mechanism comprising a series of balls 2 movable along a guideway 5 in a housing 1 which also supports a number of plungers 33, one per switch, the respective one being depressed when a switch dolly 4 is depressed. The balls are pressed together by springs 14, 15 and are so arranged that only one plunger can be fully depressed at a time. The depressed plunger is locked down by a slidable latching bar 20 which engages over a cup-shaped part 19 on the plunger. Depression of another plunger by its dolly causes the bar 20 to be slid, to the right against a spring 23 to release the first plunger so that the first switch is opened before the second is closed.
