Abstract
A composition for the reversal of inflammation in animals comprises a mixture of streptokinase or streptokinase - streptodosnase and human plasminogen. The streptokinase-streptokinase mixture which has been found to be of use in reversing inflammation in humans is non-effective in cases of inflammation in animals e.g. cows and horses, but the addition of a small amount of human plasminogen to the mixture or to streptotinase alone results in a composition that is effective in these cases. The preferred concentrations of ingredients are 1 unit of human plasminogen to 1-500 units of streptokinase (each unit is defined), and the compositions may take the form of dry mixtures in which solutions of the ingredients have been mixed and freeze dried, or solutions of the ingredients in saline preferably buffered to pH 6.8-7.8.
