Class 43 Moulded beads A for the formation of necklaces, bracelets &c. of the kind wherein a projection on one bead is sprung into a recess in an adjacent bead, are prevented from relative rotary movement when thus coupled, by forming each projection with a head a<SP>1</SP> of non-spherical shape and non- circular cross-section in the transverse plane at right angles to the common axis of bead and projection, the recess b'in the adjacent bead with which the head a<SP>1</SP> is to be interengaged being of corresponding shape and cross-section in a transverse plane at right-angles to the axis thereof. At least one of each pair of interengaged beads is made of resilient material, and the recesses b are entered through a mouth formed with a rib or restriction b<SP>1</SP> making it of smaller cross-section than the interior of the recess. The head a<SP>1</SP> is connected to the bead A by a shank a which may be of the same cross-sectional contour as the head. As shown the heads a<SP>1</SP> are ellipsoidal with their major axis at right-angles to the longitudinal axis through the bead, recess b and shank a. Alternatively the headis a<SP>1</SP> may be of other non-spherical shape, e.g. of rectangular cross-section, the recesses b being shaped accordingly. In a modification, Fig. 7, a bead A' is formed with two diametrically opposite projections each comprising a shank a and an ellipsoidal head a<SP>1</SP> for engagement with a bead wherein two diametrically opposite recesses together form an axial bore of cross-section such that relative rotary motion between two coupled beads is prevented.
