790,549. Sewing machines. VEB. SPEZIALNAHMASCHINENWERKE LIMBACH. Dec. 31, 1954, No. 37819/54. Addition to 773,520. Class 112 Embroidery machines. In the arrangement described in the parent Specification in which members 10 carrying needles 17 are pivoted on a spindle 4 and are driven by a rockable frame 5, also pivoted on spindle 4, towards the pattern card 18 and perforated drum 19, provision is made for preventing lateral displacement of the members 10. As shown, the arcuate edge of each member 10 is displaced in the grooved end of a spring-biased plunger 6 carried by the frame 5, and spacing bushes mounted on spindle 4 are interposed between the members 10. Alternatively, frame 5 is grooved to receive the edges of members 10. Lubrication. The needles pass through a felt pad 30 sealing a series of slots 28 formed in a closing plate 27 which abuts a complementary closing plate 29, the mechanism thereby being surrounded by an oil mist produced within a housing 3.
