Abstract

786,576. Lamp-holders. THORN ELECTRICAL INDUSTRIES, Ltd. Feb. 3, 1956 [March 15, 1955], No. 7569/55. Class 38 (1). A lamp-holder for trans-illuminated panels, comprise an inner metal sleeve 22 making contact with the lamp cap and serving as the lamp-holder contact, a spring 28 carried in a metal cover 27 forming the other, the cover screwing on to an outer metal sleeve 16. The holder is secured in an aperture in the panel 10 by a flange 17 on sleeve 16 and a nut 18 and washer 19, the flange contacting an aluminium sheet layer 12 on the panel and the sleeve 22 a metal instrument panel 15. An insulating sleeve 24 of transparent or translucent plastic is moulded round sleeve 22 and is capable of limited sliding movement in sleeve 16. Windows 29 are provided in sleeves 22 and 16 to transmit light. Specification 780,508, [Group XI], is referred to.
