Abstract

785,293. Titanium-base alloys. REMCRU TITANIUM, Inc. Nov. 9, 1953, No. 30990/53. Class 82(1) A welded titanium-base welded article, which is ductile in both the welded and non-welded portions, consists of:- Ti with O up to 0.3 per cent, N up to 0.2 per cent, C up to 0.3 per cent and up to 30 per cent in total of one or more of the following elements: Al, 0.25-7.5 per cent; Sn, 0.25-16.0 per cent; Ag, 0.25-10.0 per cent; Pb, 0.25-10.0 per cent; Bi, 0.25-5.0 per cent; Sb, 0.25-5.0 per cent; In 0.25-5.0 per cent; Nb, 0.1-10.0 per cent; Ta, 0.1-10.0 per cent; Zr 0.1-10.0 per cent; V, 0.1-30.0 per cent; W, 0.1-15.0 per cent; Fe, 0.1-2.0 per cent; Co, 0.1-2.0 per cent; Cu, 0.1-2.5 per cent; Ni, 0.1- 1.5 per cent; Mn, 0.1-2.5 per cent or 4.0-5.0 per cent or 7.5 per cent; Cr, 0.1-2.5 per cent or 5.0-12.5 per cent; Mo, 0.1-2.5 per cent or 5.0-15.0 per cent; Si, 0.1-1.0 per cent. While articles made of alloys containing Mn. Cr or Mo may show some embrittlement, ductility may be restored by suitable heat treatment. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specifications 677.413. 679,434, 679,705, 725,194 and 733,882.
